Taylor Swift Gets Too Many Questions About Kanye West VMA Interruption

Kanye West's interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday remains a hot media topic, five days later. Swift talked about the issue during an interview on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show on Friday morning (September 18) and was asked to talk about it a bit more than she wanted to in an interview with a Tampa Bay, Florida, DJ.

With Seacrest, Swift talked about everything from winning a VMA as a country artist to whether she'll write a song about the VMA incident.

"Well, I think that in order to write a song about something, I have to have clarity and be completely sure, and I'm not there yet," she told Seacrest about the possibility that she may write a song about West. (She wrote the song "Forever & Always" about her breakup with Jonas Brother Joe Jonas.)

As for the VMA win, she said she's "really proud to bring the first VMA home to Nashville. [It's good] to know there's a Moonman on its way to Nashville." She also spoke about the outpouring of kindness to her in the wake of the incident.

"I got flowers from Janet Jackson!" Swift said. "It was the nicest card ever — I took a picture of it! But it was really, really nice, and everyone was really sweet to me this week."

The interview with Seacrest went a lot smoother than one she did on Thursday with Tampa Bay radio station 93.3 FLZ. Radio host MJ persistently asked Swift about the incident after she'd answered his initial questions and repeatedly but politely asked him to move onto another subject.

"Well, you know, I think that the outpouring of love is what I focus on about that whole thing, and getting flowers from Janet Jackson is something that I never thought would happen in my whole life," she initially answered. "Just everybody being supportive and showing love, it was really nice [to know] people I didn't even think knew who I was were out there having my back and being really very kind to me."

After MJ, who also had Miley Cyrus abruptly end an interview with him in June, asked about it several times, she very politely said: "You know, honestly, I'm trying not to make it into a bigger deal than it already is. It's kind of become more of a bigger deal than I thought it would be. I would just like to move on a little bit. ... I didn't know what to think but I think we should talk about something else. It's nothing I feel like we should talk about."

After yet another question, she handed the phone to her rep and moved on herself — to another interview.

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards might have wrapped, but the party is far from over. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates, party reports and much more.
